Unverified Users via DID Wallet Face NFT Visibility Issues and Redirect Loop Requiring Wallet Reconnection

Description: Two critical issues occur when users sign in via the DID Wallet extension without verifying their email:

  1. Redirect Loop & Wallet Reconnection Requirement:
  • Unverified users see a "No NFT Available" message in the wallet. A link within the extension redirects to the email verification page but forces users to reconnect their wallet, creating a redundant step.
  • Example Flow: Unverified user → DID Wallet sign-in → "No NFT" page → Click email verification link → Redirect to verification page → Forced to reconnect wallet.
  1. NFT Not Displayed Post-Verification:
  • After claiming the email verification NFT, the wallet still shows "No NFT Available," even after accounting for blockchain delays (~5–30 minutes). This persists indefinitely unless manually refreshed.

Impact:

  • User Experience: High frustration due to redundant steps (reconnecting wallets) and delayed NFT visibility.
  • Adoption Risk: Users may abandon onboarding if critical assets (NFTs) appear missing.
  • Trust: Perceived platform instability if blockchain transactions aren’t reflected accurately.

Suggested Fix:

  1. Session Handling: Ensure links redirecting outside the extension (e.g., email verification) open in the default browser to maintain wallet connectivity.
  2. Auto-Refresh Mechanism: Trigger an NFT list refresh after claiming or periodically poll blockchain data to update the UI.
  3. Confirmation Notifications: Add a post-claim message: “NFT may take 5 minutes to appear.”
