If i make my own blocklet server, can I then sync my blocklets/components from the rented server (blocklet launcher) I previously used, onto this new server I am now the owner of?

This is where DID Spaces comes into play, it's designed as the engine for data backup/restore/sync.

Steps:

  1. Backup your whole app hosted on ArcBlock Launcher to your DID Spaces on the "Storage" tab on your blocklet dashboard.
  2. Restore your app to your blocklet server following guides here: Restore Blocklet to Blocklet Server

A few side notes if you run the app on your server:

  • Setting up your server may require a bot technical skills
  • You need to ensure your server is always online to make your app accessible to the world.
  • You need to maintain your server all by yourself (we are always there to help), such as upgrading to the latest version.

thanks! the main reason I want to run my own server is because I want to integrate a html game I’ve been workin on, into the Arcblock ecosystem, and from what I figured the only way I can do this is through my own blocklet server

If there would be an alternative way for me to integrate the html game please let me know 🙂

z1VV21NqNWkiadznN32ALkos5dQqQwnCMty, another question I thought of…on my own blocklet server, how will the costs of running differ from blocklet launcher?

I presume I will have to cover the cost of the own server, but will the components/blocklets also have to be paid for by subscriptions?

Blocklets run on your own server does not require any payments.
