Clarification on Public Requests for Blocklet Approval
Hi ArcBlock Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I’m in the process of getting my blocklets published to the official ArcBlock store, and I was informed that public requests are part of the approval process. However, I’ve noticed that some applications have appeared in the store without any visible public requests or approvals.
I wanted to clarify whether the rule of making public requests is universal for all developers or if certain individuals or teams have a higher level of authority, allowing them to publish directly without this step. Understanding the process fully will help me better navigate the submission and approval of my blocklets.
I appreciate your time and look forward to your response!
Best regards,

🤔
Hey Twelve,
I normally test mine and then publish to store directly. Been doing so ever since I got the dev passport (after first submission of blocklet had to be tested).
The team has been okay with this with over 20 blocklets😁 Only recently 1 has been removed and it was because the Arcblock team had a similar blocklet so no point having another one. So if there’s issues the team does check all blocklets anyways, and they can remove blocklets from the store if any features are not meeting the criteria.
just my 2 cents from previous experience
Hey Thor, thanks for insight.
I feel like the process should be the same for everyone.
I’ve been told to make public posts. So that I can get approval from the tram and so that others can see and learn from them.
Having to take this additional step seems reasonable, so im not trying to change it. However if this is the policy I feel like it should be applied more universally to all the builders.
Having a reward pool available seems to create a need make the rules even more clear and apply to everyone equally.
yeah I understand your point. I haven’t been informed of this, after my first submission back in May/June which had a public approval process, I was told to use the developer pass responsibly/do good things (which I have ofc). I’m happy with either method, whatever the team decides
So far, just sharing what my experience was like, pretty much autonomous from the get go with the team being aware…they have been okay with this for past 4 months or so, me posting the blocklets, way before the blocklet reward pool launched recently
interesting. From my first blocklet publishing I was told that I had to get official approval from the dev team.
Maybe they Just trust you more than me😀
It’s all good.
I think the public post and official approval is a good universal policy, however with an influx of blocklets it may be hard to approve them in a timely manner.
Announcing our blocklets publicly can also healthy, as it makes others aware of what is being built. May also discourage people from putting out shitty blocklets in fear of being ridiculed. if there is such a thing as a shitty blocklet. One person may hate what another person likes.
let’s see what the team decides, but as you say there’s positive to both pathways: public + approval for awareness, or it might be worth posting directly at least for the duration of the hackathon due to volume
speaking of which I checked my personal blocklet store recently and there’s a bug stopping me from posting there atm anyways😂 I’m sure it will be fixed soon enough though
z1dTAX6BubAxmhXGP8zMVAZAFwizvbv8gnB z1notyEjWxWTWj1pUANTyPXV4hd2sZX1hzZ We are delighted to have you building with us, and we appreciate on what you guys have achieved on the ArcBlock platform so far, to keep things consistent and ensure transparency for all community members, here is the proposal for the workflow of new blocklets that want to publish on https://store.blocklet.dev/:
The above workflow is not perfect, so in the upcoming Blocklet Store release, there will be a built-in review process, and all future blocklets should be uploaded directly to Blocklet Store for those who already have a developer passport, once the blocklets go through the review process, then can be published and accessed by the community.
sounds good! however, currently I can’t upload to my blocklet store due to this bug:
having issue connecting to the test store too
so how should I proceed till that is fixed? I have a few other blocklets ready for approval/publishing
Let's track uploading issue in the referenced thread.
Sounds good to me. I look forward to seeing the new release.
