Abt fee for bridging?

I've noticed I'm still being charged a fee for bridging abt to mainnet, even though I have staked 1 abt, I thought staking the minimum 1abt, would have made a transactions fee less? Also realised I had 13abt charged on my 1st bridging to mainnet, I'm probably missing something, sorry for being the novice, (Explorer ) is this just part of the Eth fees?

Since ArcBlock and Ethereum are different blockchains, moving ABT across different blockchains is quite different than moving ABT just on Ethereum or ArcBlock chain.

The staking for gas-free transaction feature is only eligible for transactions sent to the ArcBlock chain.

Moving ABT from Ethereum to ArcBlock requires both gas and a small amount of ABT as the bridging fee:

  • The gas is charged when your token is locked on Ethereum, that's how Ethereum works
  • The bridging fee is charged when bridge validators validate your transaction on Ethereum and submit proof for the validation of your deposit on the ArcBlock chain, the those fees will go into the validators who got the work done, usually a bunch of them.

By the way, lower fee rate for bridging will become reality like what happened here:
