Threads-to-Instagram Profile Link Failure
Description
When a user attempts to navigate to a linked Instagram profile from a Threads profile page, the app redirects to a Facebook error page ("Sorry, something went wrong") instead of opening the Instagram app or the correct web profile.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open the Threads.
- Navigate to a profile (e.g.,
cla.rx.ssa). - Tap the Instagram icon located next to the notification bell.
- Observe the redirection behavior.
Expected Result
The device should trigger a deep link to open the Instagram app directly to that user's profile or, if the app is missing, load the Instagram web profile correctly.
Actual Result
The app loads a blank screen with a Facebook header and the message: "Sorry, something went wrong. We're working on getting this fixed as soon as we can."
