Payouts for Apps in official store?

Hey team — I wanted to bring something up about the ArcBlock App Store.

We’ve had the BM9000 listed for a while now, and a few people have launched it. I’m not expecting much in terms of payouts, especially this early, but it got me thinking: what’s the plan for compensating developers when others deploy their apps from the store?

I think there’s been talk in the past about creating a clear path for this, but as of now, it doesn’t seem like that system exists. If ArcBlock wants to attract more developers and quality apps to the ecosystem, I think laying out that path — even just the roadmap for it — would make a big difference.

Just wanted to put it out there. I think the platform has something special, and a working model for dev compensation would go a long way in helping it grow.

Just to follow up — we can see that BM9000 has 134 downloads from the App Store, which is great. But we have no way of knowing how long each person actually ran the app after launching it.

Some users might’ve deployed it once and shut it down, while others could have it running for months. Without any kind of usage tracking or visibility, it’s hard to understand the impact — and impossible to align that with any kind of compensation model.

Having a system that shows usage metrics or supports rev share would be incredibly valuable — not just for us, but for any developer thinking about publishing to the store.

This is on our Q3 plan, and the first payout will cover all history usage(downloads/running timespan).

very nice! Having a clear path to monetize apps through the store will be a great incentive for other devs to build. I know the real money will come though our own monetizing but any amount of money is helpful!
