DID Wallet Desktop Extensions (Google/Edge) - Wallet Creation/Import Requires Logout (Unlike Mobile App)

On the DID Wallet Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge extensions, users cannot create a new wallet or import an existing wallet while logged in. This functionality works seamlessly on the mobile app, but the desktop extensions require users to log out first before creating/importing a wallet. This creates a fragmented user experience and blocks desktop users from initializing wallets without additional steps.

On the DID Wallet Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge extensions, users cannot create a new wallet or import an existing wallet while logged in. This functionality works seamlessly on the mobile app, but the desktop extensions require users to log out first before creating/importing a wallet. This creates a fragmented user experience and blocks desktop users from initializing wallets without additional steps.

🔁 Steps to Reproduce

1. Create New Wallet
  1. Open the DID Wallet Google/Edge extension.
  2. Attempt to create a new wallet (e.g., "Create Wallet" button).
  3. Observe that the option is blocked unless the user logs out first.
2. Import Existing Wallet
  1. Open the DID Wallet Google/Edge extension.
  2. Attempt to import a wallet (e.g., via mnemonic, private key, or seed phrase).
  3. Observe that the option is blocked unless the user logs out first.
3. Compare with Mobile App
  1. Open the DID Wallet mobile app (iOS/Android).
  2. Confirm that wallet creation/import is fully functional without requiring logout.

High – Blocks desktop users from initializing wallets without additional logout steps, creating a dependency on mobile-only workflows.

🛠️ Expected Behavior

  • Users should be able to create a new wallet or import an existing wallet via the desktop extensions without requiring logout, just like on the mobile app.
  • The desktop extensions should mirror the mobile app's wallet initialization flow.

🧪 Actual Behavior

  • Create New Wallet and Import Wallet options are blocked unless the user logs out first.
  • Desktop users are forced to log out before initializing a wallet, unlike the mobile app.
