Bug bounty Notification and Unclaimed distribution
Now the system for claiming has changed could we implement an automatic notification to qualifying members that claim is open so they don’t miss out.
Also if there are rewards not claimed what happens to these? I know if there are no qualifying posts these rewards move across to the next month but if they have already been assigned but not claimed would these split between qualifying participants from the same month (as it’s come from the allowance split down to contribute to those community members)

They have explained I think that unclaimed rewards roll over to the next bounty
yes if there’s no qualifying posts it rolls over but in this case it’s slightly different, as all the posts that qualified share the bounty, so if it’s split between 10 posts lets say, that’s 100 ABT per post, but say only 5 claim, technically those 5 should be worth 200 each as the other 500 was unclaimed for that month but there IS qualifying posts if that makes sense, it’s slightly different if there are no qualifying posts as it does roll over but surely if posts do qualify they should get the whole of the monthly bounty divided (including what’s not been claimed) rather than it rolling over in that circumstance 👀

Yeah I got your point, someone from the team can answer with more certainty but in my opinion it's more fair to distribute the rewards based on each individual 's contribution regardless of how many claimed the prizes. I got 4.8 ABT, if say the 500/1000 were not claimed I'm not justified to claim more. 500 go to Next month more contributions! It's more fair I think. In any case a whole month to claim the rewards is not a pressing deadline to miss! 😂
Not at all, plenty of time for people to claim. Difference of opinions but that’s life, no drama 😊🤪 I guess I just figure if people don’t claim they have essentially reserved part of the bounty that would have gone to the others that did claim that month, rather than moving it to the next month. Both ways it comes back into the community so it’s not a big deal, my opinion is just that it’s fairer to remain in the same months bounty if there have been qualifying posts, but as you say, I’m sure the team will check it out and do as they feel fair, there’s no right or wrong answer with it, just maybe a point for discussion at some point by the team 👍
For example if someone makes a great suggestion this month but doesn’t post anything next month and part of what they could have been rewarded has been moved to next month because it wasn’t claimed then it seems a little unfair on them as the people next month will benefit rather than the people in the present month 🤪 doesn’t overly impact me as I post a lot (I really enjoy contributing) but more so for people who only post occasionally or are new users is what I’m thinking 😉😎

Maybe we can initiate a vote to let the community decide the proper solution.
Maybe extending the claim period would be a fairer option, I would imagine most people will claim in time if they are active community members so perhaps just monitor for a few months and if there are amounts left unclaimed frequently we could either extend the claim time or distribute automatically? Maybe just monitor for the time being as it may not be an issue 🤔👍
I think if we do keep the manual claim method a push notification of some kind would be a great addition to ensure people don’t miss out 😊
The Bug Bounty rewards for May have all been claimed, and the official has automatically distributed the prize pool rewards to users who have not yet claimed them.
